Biography

Julia Corren grew up in the Sandhills of Nebraska. Where she spent most of her time staring at the sky and daydreaming. As an artist, that imaginative spirit is at the core of the work that she creates. Combining digital capture methods, fiber arts, and a plethora of other media provides her with the opportunity to control each aspect of her visual artwork to make sure it aligns with the underlying story. Beyond being a visual artist, Julia also incorporates creative fiction text into her repertoire. From crafting, writing, to illustrating creative narratives, Julia is more than a visual creative - she is a narrative artist. Her work has been incorporated into local and regional exhibitions and her commercial photographic work received a Silver American Advertising Federation Award in 2026.

Every story, when told the right way, can be mesmerizing. Getting creative with the delivery adds a layer of understanding to the narrative. When the words can no longer adequately portray the emotions of the story, I add other mediums into the mix. Combining digital capture methods, creative writing, fiber arts, and a plethora of other media into my artistic practice.

I gravitate towards stories that evolve from complicated themes of change, memory, and loss. Analyzing the way these things not only affect people, but places as well. People feel connected through my art. Everyone experiences these things and some deal with the strong emotions by isolating themselves. That is how I myself used to deal with grief. Through art I have found connection with other people who have gone through similar experiences. People who view my work and feel a sense of connection, and realize that no one is alone.
